Wow, beautiful shot! She completely reminds me of my cat, with her yellow furs and big golden eyes.. ^__^

I wonder if I can use it as a reference for a drawing, I will give proper credits for the photo, of course! Thanks. :)

Oh my! Who's this lovely debutante, all decked out in richest gold? Why, it's Coky the lioness, of course -- enjoying a few winter sun rays! :aww:

She's simply gorgeous! I can't wait to see more of her and her brother's; as the lions grow. Such a beautiful trio... :happycry:

They are! And I know! :sniff:

Yes, it's rather unfortunate, that Utica is a fairly small zoo. :cries: But, while Mom and Dad have gone back to the zoos they were leased from; Utica has been blessed with three new lions -- two brothers and their sister -- who have, in turn, passed that blessing onto photographers, like yourself! :happycry:

I do hope that Bakari's and Monni's good genes continue to be passed down (although via the zoo leasing/being leased more lions; as their three resident lions are all related)! The small pride are all healthy and happy -- thanks to selective breeding programs!!

I just really hope they keep Monni and Bakari together and don't send them off to different places.

Is there any way of finding out whether the lions are still together? They seemed so happy, as a couple! (Besides, they blessed the Zoo with not one, but TWO, litters!! :aww:) So I, too, hope that Bakari and Monni have been rehomed together!! :fingerscrossed:

(It would break their hearts, if they weren't... :sniff:)

Maybe you could do a web search using the names and see if there is any news from others zoo saying they got them. I know my daughter found wolfs that way.

Unfortunately, the only article I found, with regards to these adorable lions' parents, was Lions Monni and Bakari no longer at Utica Zoo; a site that has zoo staff basically keeping Mum about the adults' whereabouts. (In fact, the only information I gained, was that Bakari and Monni were returned to their former homes, once Coky and Murphy were comfortable with big brother Donovan -- and vice-versa!) :(

It would seem that, in spite of our fondest wishes and hopes; Mom and Dad lions have been separated, as per owner-lease plans.

It looks like your right as it also says(home facilities). I know Bakari came from Texas as a zoo there had too many males and told your zoo if they paid for the transportation they would send us a male. And Monni came from a loner program, they said they could keep her for as long as they wanted as long as the zoo got a male to breed her with and gave the program every other baby. When Donovan was born they took the first and third. Then when Coky and Murphy were born they took the second one. We should try and check out the Texas news and see if they say any thing about getting Bakari back.
